Kedrick Bingley-Jones is very familiar with the Mississippi State Bulldogs and their talented starting quarterback Kamario Taylor.
The defender spent two years with the Bulldogs before transferring to Alabama after the 2025 season. He was teammates with Taylor for a year in 2025.
The quarterback started in two games for the Bulldogs last season when he and the now Alabama defensive lineman were teammates.
Bingley-Jones feels he and his new Alabama teammates must play disciplined football while attempting to contain Taylor.
“I mean, for us as a D line, we really just got to be disciplined in our rush lanes,” Bingley-Jones said. “Obviously, he’s gonna hurt us with his legs, and he’s gonna be able to get out of the pocket and make plays downfield too. It’s not just like he is going to get out and run. He’s going to be able to get out and extend plays and be able to find people like Anthony Evans and Sanfrisco McGee. I mean, they got playmakers all on the outside, too. So we got to do a good job containing him, for sure.”
Alabama’s defensive coordinator Kane Wommack described Taylor as one of the best quarterbacks Kalen DeBoer’s Alabama staff has ever faced earlier this week.
“I think he is already operating as an elite quarterback in the SEC,” Wommack said. “He does such a great job on the deep throws. He’s got great touch, leads his receiving corps out there which this is a very, very fast group. I think they’ve got multiple guys that have documented ten-two, ten-three speeds whether it was coming out of high school or whatever. He does a nice job in that regard, really clean with his RPO reads and his delivery with the ball. They do a great job of leading people with those RPO’s so that they can create explosive plays after catch. He just has a great feel and a great touch right now, again he is probably as good as we have seen in the last three years at the quarterback position.”
Taylor has thrown for 1,192 yards and 14 touchdowns this season.
